Francisco Jose Herrera is a 3rd generation coffee producers, who has spent his entire life in the Colombian coffee region. His parents mostly produced more traditional coffees. After graduating as a chemical engineer he wanted to apply his knowledge to the family business.
He started to learn more about organic coffee and decided to implement “VERMICULTURE”.
An activity focused on raising the Californian red worm, a small animal that is responsible for the production of humus, which is obtained through a process of transformation of organic waste. These sustainable techniques provide reparative nutrients to the soil.
Thanks to these techniques and the markt recognition of their efforts, the production is 100% organic.
They have been certified organic since 1998 and produce their fertilizers 100% organic.
