This Zinule #7 is the first Uganda coffee for Andy. Growing in the Bulambuli district East Uganda, bordering Kenya, on the Uganda side of Mt. Elgon, this region has all the potential for excellent coffees. Its terrain and climatic conditions perfect for specialty coffee.
Also sharing SL14, SL28 varieties, Uganda is an origin with all the potential to become a big player on the specialty market.
Problems with organisation cause for a slower process compared to Kenya, but with the help of traders like Nordic Approach the country is taking big leaps in quality and traceability.

The cherries are delivered to the washing station. After a thorough selection process and quality checks, the coffee is pulped and fermented on site. It is then either dried directly at the washing station or taken to external drying yards in the town of Mbale. This gives Nordic Approach, our trader, more control over the processing, as it is conducted by professionals who focus on achieving optimal results in quality and flavour profiles.
